My Happy Place

From my very first visit to Paris in March, 2007, I have found a way to drag up a green chair, put my feet up and thank God I'm in Paris again. A plastic glass of champagne is the icing on the cake.

Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris. While not always open, it's worth researching upcoming exhibits before your next visit. 

Charmant!

I recommend making the short metro/bus connection to Rueil-Malmaison. It's a nice walk through the town which takes you through a beautiful park adjacent to Château de Malmaison.

Sunday Church Series - Paris Rouge

This door, on the north side of Notre Dame de Paris is often overlooked, but who could walk past this beautiful porte rouge and not stop for a photograph?

What a treat to watch bread being made at La Grande Epicerie. For many years our apartment was  just a few blocks from here, so we took full advantage of the wonderful selection of prepared foods, breads, pastries, delicacies, chocolats and so much more.

The iron grates that cover most Paris shops after closing make it really hard to window shop!

Le Grand Palais

It took me 15 trips to Paris before I finally was able to go inside the Grand Palais. Built in the Beaux Arts style, the iron and glass structure is jaw dropping.  This is where Paris Photo is held every November. This amazing photography exhibit is sensory overload and I spent the whole time taking photos of the building's details and the photography. A day I will certainly never forget.

Some Paris Métro stations are more memorable than others. Certainly this mosaic wall in the Saint-Paul-Notre Dame is an eye catcher.

Morning walk in Butte-aux- Cailles. If you've never explored this charming neighborhood in the 13th, you need to add it to your list.

Portes du Louvre

The Cour Carrée, one of the main courtyards at the Louvre, is often overlooked, as most visitors flock to the Pyramid. It's usually quieter and late one afternoon after walking all day, I wandered in, sat on a bench and just soaked in all the exquisite details at my leisure. I stayed until the sun set.
