Les grands magasins

The view from Galeries Lafayette looking towards  Printemps, two of the grands magasins. At Christmas, they are magical for children as well as the adults!

Le ciel est bleu !

A blue sky day in Paris is always an occasion to celebrate. With Printemps exquisite dome is even better.

CDP Theme Day - Your Shop Windows

One of the perks of visiting Paris in mid November is that the city's grands magasins are decked to the hilt for Christmas. Printemps' windows were magical and drew many children who looked on in awe. I think this photo is also a nice Paris Rouge addition!

Looking Down

Most visitors think that the only views of Paris from high above must be from the Eiffel Tower or the Sacre Coeur. Luckily for me, I have some pretty savvy friends,  and I've learned to love the rooftop decks of Galleries Lafayette and Printemps . This view of the beautiful Madeleine Church was taken from Printemps' rooftop deck.  Merci Peter Olson!

Nöel à Paris - Printemps

After a long photo shoot of the windows at Printemps, I turned and looked behind me.

Le Tour de Macarons - Printemps

Macarons verts. Pistache peut-être?  Pour toi Peter!

As magical as most of the windows are, designed to bring a smile to the faces of les petits enfants, some of Printemps windows made our jaws drop!  This tower of macarons is just one fine example. I have more.

For my macaron aficionados, here's a link to Paris Pâtisseries' blog that you will enjoy!

Plus ROSE au Printemps

Yesterday I showed your the hot pink lights that adorned the outside of Printemps. Today more rose as we see the glitz that hung from the arcades all around it.  What a magical way to set off the wonderful Christmas windows that we will have a peek at tomorrow!

Printemps dans la couleur de la saison...ROSE!

Last year Printemps decked herself out in hot pink decorations and added these festive lights. Could anything be more PARIS??

Printemps, Le Grand Magasin Indeed!

I love Printemps. I'm not much of a shopper in Paris,  but I never tire of photographing this wonderful place from the street. Today, a double dose with the header as well.  I will now have the pleasure of sharing my recent photos with you.  It was a week packed with fun, friends,  new Paris moments and a 11GB of memory cards!

Printemps, un grand magazin

I think this sign is just spectacular. The hat, the dress .....c'est magnifique!

Department stores in Paris are a shopaholic's "fix". I'm not sure if I've ever really purchased anything at Printemps , but I am very content to just wander and look! Today, images of the elegant exterior. Founded in 1865 by Jules Juluzot and designed by Paul Sédille, it now consists of three building and boasts the largest beauty department in the world. Perhaps I should have stopped there for some much needed help and a spritz of my very favorite Chanel No.5 ! Visit their website for everything this wonderful old store has to offer.

Last summer, Peter and I went to the rooftop café and took photographs from there. I thought I had already posted those but apparently not. I will do that very soon!
