My mind and my camera has been focusied on ballerinas lately. I took this photograph in November when i revisited the lovely boutique at the Opéra Garnier. Dégas' danseuse would have been a lovely gift to our ballerina Chappell, if only I'd been able to get her home in my suitcase.

La Petite Danseuse de Quatorze Ans
My mind and my camera has been focusied on ballerinas lately. I took this photograph in November when i revisited the lovely boutique at the Opéra Garnier. Dégas' danseuse would have been a lovely gift to our ballerina Chappell, if only I'd been able to get her home in my suitcase.

Les ballarines
Although I have tried, I've not toured the magical Palais Garnier. I have however, visited their lovely gift shop on many occasions and love to photograph their tutus. This last strip was no exception.
I share this photograph tonight as my very talented granddaughter, Chappell, will again be dancing many parts in the Magic City Nutcracker. If you live in the Birmingham area, you should attend!

Les grandes portes
These gorgeous glass doors welcome you to L'opera Restaurant. Designed by architect Odile Decq, it's tucked alongside the Opéra Garnier.

L'Opéra Garnier
Although I've never been inside, I will never tire of photographing the exterior of the Opera Garnier.

Avant et après II
Continuing the series of images taken last November before and after the attacks on 13 novembre, 2015.
On 13 novembre I had the pleasure of meeting Edouard de Bailliencourt, the Sales Representative , North America, for Galieries Lafayette for lunch and a tour of the beautiful store. After our lunch, I was free to roam the store taking photos of their fabulous Christmas decorations. I made sure to go up to the rooftop observation deck for a sweeping view of the city. The French flag flying atop the magnificent Opéra Garnier caught my eye.
Note: It was with great sadness that we all mourn the injuries and loss of lives as a result of the attacks on the city of Brussels today.

Le tutu
At last, I finally found the beautiful gift shop at the Palais Garnier open!!! I couldn't believe my good luck. It is filled with tutus, costumes and all things ballet. There was also a section of gifts for adults! Located around the right side of the Opèra, near the restaurant, it's worth a trip inside.

Opèra de national de Paris
Another view from the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette. Eventually I'll run out but until then, take a deep breath and enjoy.

Imposant!
I have friends pouring into Paris lately and all I ask is that SOMEBODY will stop in L'opéra and have lunch, dinner, a drink.....anything and just report back. I think it's worth a nice glass of wine to see inside this lovely restaurant designed by Odile Decq. I think she did a masterful job of fitting this contemporary space into the side of this magnificent building.

Don't Stand in Paris Traffic...
unless it's for a good shot....but hurry!
( I love this, I don't know why but it's just Paris for me and also a night shot that I don't get often)
