My Paris savvy readers probably are thinking E. Dehillerin, and that would be an excellent guess. They are known for their extensive collection of copper cookware. These well worn pots and pans were spotted at Marché aux Puces. I love the patina.

Mon Ami
Back in July, 2009, I met the charming gentleman on the right. He had heard of Birmingham, Alabama from some friends who had shopped there before and he asked, "Madame, if I come to Birmingham, what should I see first?" I didn't bat an eye and said, "Moi, Monsieur!" He laughed and we have been friends ever since. This trip in 2012, I took a photo I'd taken that day and he proudly showed it to his coworkers. E. Dehillerin is the premier place for cookware in Paris. I like to say if they don't stock it, you don't need it. Ina Garten shops here and that's good enough for me. I've never bought a thing but I always stop in and say, "Bonjour" to my friends there.

Cinq Poêles
E. Dehillerin, depuis 1820, has everything a cook/chef could want. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it! This amazing shop, filled to the ceiling with cooking utensils and an extensive inventory of copper cookware is a store that everyone needs to experience at least once.

Ustensiles de cuisine et matériel cuisson professionel
I love poking around this wonderful store. If they don't stock it, you probably don't need it in your kitchen! The salesmen are a delight as well. More on them another day.

E. Dehillerin, A Chef's Paradise
Today we found E. Dehillerin. For you Food Network fans of Ina Garten, this is where she buys her copper pots when in Paris. Founded in 1820, this store is a treasure trove of cooking utensils and every shape and size of copper pots and pans you can imagine. The extra added bonus was the extremely friendly salesmen. One even knew where Birmingham is located!!! More French strangers along with some photos of this wonderful shop located on rue Coquilliere in the 1st arrondissement.

( He asked me if he ever gets to Birmingham what is the first thing he should see. My answer was, "Moi" of course! )
