... I had spent about an hour and a half talking with the dancers at rue Mouffetard and sharing some photographs I have taken of them for the last 3 years. Genie, Holly, Mary and our sweet Paris friend Anne, then adjourned to a café across the street, and as we sat upstairs having lunch, I took a peek out of the window and decided to try a long shot through the glass. I love the movement and seeing it all from a new perspective.
You might recognize one of my favorite dancers that I posted here.
Great capture...The dancers and their voyeurs...I think I need a new hat after looking at this...and a few new dance moves ;-)

Fabulous shot, love the energy. I think it's a very strange feeling when you come home from a holiday, for a while you always think 'well at this time last week I was..' I do see you dancing pal Virginia, is he wearing a checked hat this time ?
ReplyDeleteMolto interessante!
ReplyDeleteLa joie de vivre capturée...
ReplyDeletegros bisous
What a great dynamic! I can hear a music. Did you dance too? Moments like this are precious. Robert Doisneau would be proud.
ReplyDeleteOnly the crazy Parisians would be dancing outside in the dead of winter.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured a scene that looks like it is from a bygone age, especially showing it in B&W...I love the energy and feeling in this picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat was that old song... Dancing in the Street ? Done by all sorts of folks from Marvin Gaye to Jagger and Bowie... Hope you had a good trip back, and I'm sure Meeps was happy to see you...
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured, V! The eye goes right to your old friend and his oh-so-Parisienne dance partner.
ReplyDeleteWas that only last week? It seems now so long ago... must go back soon! That was a fabulous day, V!
ReplyDeleteBises,

Grace, My grandmother and my mother always were saying, "This time this week or this time next week" when I was growing up so it comes naturally! Now it seems so long ago but thankfully I have many images to bring back the moments.
ReplyDeleteAlexa,
Yes, he's one that is so colorful, my camera is drawn every trip.
Starman, not so cold. We were very lucky this trip. It was sunny and crisp and I only felt the bite of the cold late in the afternoon or evening. This was a perfect day for dancing!
Now this is the way to celebrate a Sunday!!!
