Le Autobus de Tournée

I took this photo initially for my dear, dear reader Eiffel Tower Suzy. She has used this fabulous Galeries Lafayette ad as her profile photo, and I've always loved it. As I was posting the photo I looked at the tourist on the top of the bus and lo and behold I really think that guy is the same one I posted *here! What do you think?

* This photo was taken on our way to the the Musée d'Orsay , where the other photo was taken. Small world , eh??

  2. And it looks like he's trying to remember where he's seen you before. :) That's quite amazing, V! And I love that ad ~ how stylishly smart.

  3. I think that guy is an undercover cop making sure you're not dealing in bootleg miniatures of the Eiffel Tower. Or else a Russian spy.

Did you see in the news yesterday where the Parisians arrested a bunch of Chinese folks for selling bootleg Eiffel Tower souvenirs? I didn't know you could protect something like that.

  4. Arrested Chinese folks for selling bootleg ET's?? Well why don't they use their energy arresting those annoying guys that bug the living daylights out of us selling the ET keychains all around the area. They are awful and will pick your pocket while they're at it!

  5. Fun photo! I like that the bus says "Enjoy a . . ." -- I guess they figure no French people will get on the bus. And yes that's totally the same guy! I agree with Mr. Earl that he's a spy pretending to be a tourist, and he's now really worried that you're the FBI closing in on him!

  6. I was surprised at all the English words used in the ads on the side of the bus.

Why pay extra to ride a tourist bus when you can ride the regular buses with the natives!

  7. By gum, that is the same dude.
And, I'm with Harriet...I like the buses with the locals - in fact I had a great experience with Daryl in NYC on a local bus from The Cloisters to the UWS.

I love buses with tourists and locals .. snapped a tourist load on 49th Street waiting for the light to change and everyone looked bored! Bored!?

  9. Harriet's right. The regular Paris buses are wonderful and you get to see the real Paris.

  11. Oh I LOVE this ad!!! I actually played a little trick on everyone when I was using it as my profile pic. On every comment, I would switch the direction she was looking. I think Alexa or maybe Shell was the only one to notice!

I am so flattered that you think of moi when you see the ET. I don't deserve it!! But I sure am happy that I get to see all of your ET photos. This one is going to be my new wallpaper pic!

  12. Gosh; you're right - it MUST be the same guy.... this is creepy! How much fun though - and I LOVE those tourist buses.... but prefer the boat trips - quieter and less smelly - and you don't get run over by the Parisian drivers, LOL!
