In the warmer months, there are always card and chess games going around the pavilions in Luxembourg Gardens. I love watching the men, of different ages and nationalities, share time together doing what they love to do.
Our most regretful part of our trip to Paris last spring was that the weather was so rainy and cold, we couldn't do what we'd hoped to nearly every day -- hang in the park with our lunch and people watch. So I especially am enjoying these photos!
Reminds me of lazy, hot afternoons in the summer when I was younger.

Ils sont bien sérieux...un Poker, peut-être.
ReplyDeleteThey look so engrossed in the game. I suspect the keep count of their wins.
ReplyDeleteEven in the colder months one can find several animated chess games in progress in Luxembourg Gardens with onlookers lending commentary and advice.
ReplyDeleteLuxembourg Gardens is such a great place to find Parisians entertaining themselves. Nice shot.

ReplyDeleteThe observer seems even more concerned about the cards than the players.
ReplyDeleteSomething serious is going on there!
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how these guys make a living—but perhaps this IS their job! :~} Nicely captured, V.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have time to do what you like in life... (I would not be playing cards.) :-)
ReplyDeleteNicely seen and captured, and so perfect in black and white.
ReplyDeleteAnd Black and White is a whole lot better than that orange plastic fence behind that card game.
ReplyDeleteMerci
