There's something magical about Paris on rainy nights ... I think it's the way lights reflect off shiny wet cobble-stones. This is a great capture Virginia .....makes me home-sick for that beautiful city.
Easy to understand that it's one of your favourites! (... although I haven't yet seen the other hundreds, thousands your took during this latest (not last) trip!
Such great contrasts - The almost garish reflection of red lights, the very modern young woman's pose, and the way the rooftops recede in the background. Beautiful. No wonder film directors will often ask for their locations to be wet down; the look is so dramatic.
I love to have a look at the windows of all the expensive shops in Rue Saint Honoré.
ReplyDeleteRainy nights make for fabulous reflections.
ReplyDeleteJazzy mood!

ReplyDeleteLéia
This transports me to Paris - I feel as if I am walking behind the women inhaling the scent of the damp Parisian air. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI can see why this is one of your faves ... It just glows (and I am sure the rouge doesn't hurt either!)
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't a rainy night here have the same charm? It makes me homesick for Paris, and I've never been there!
ReplyDeleteAnd they watered down the streets just to give you reflections - nice!
ReplyDeleteLovely shot with accents of rouge, and unless you tell me that silhouette is Mary, she "must be a French girl!"
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! I so look forward to your images each day; I'll join the chorus loving Paris in the rain~
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot going on here..and I like it all...
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of a rainy night in Paris. I wonder if the French girl is checking her phone for a text or checking her messages?
ReplyDeleteLa pluie fait briller la nuit.
ReplyDeletevery atmospheric...
ReplyDeleteNot to worry, it looks like the rain has stopped.
ReplyDeleteOui Genie...c'est moi!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can see why. Love those rain gutters in the street in the older parts of Paris. Even better when red with passion.
ReplyDeleteI love this ... so rouge :)
