Here in Alabama, we call this Virginia Creeper. I would love to know what the French version is called. In Paris, it is glorious in the fall when the leaves turn , but I love it in the winter as well, when only the vines are left, winding their way up the walls.
We call it Virginia Creeper here in Melbourne too. It's a great vine as it marks each season wonderfully with its changing colours from red to green back to red again before falling and starting again.
ReplyDeleteA lovely autumnal shot.....

ReplyDeleteand how come alabama calls it virginia anyway?
Lovely! I can feel the crisp breeze!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the post above and suggest "Vigne Vierge... " - Lovely shades of reds and oranges in the winter. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle) -- from NYC for a change! :-)

ReplyDeleteOh, dear, that's not what I know as Virginia creeper. "Mine" is a five-leaved vine--I'll have to google this! The five-leaved one also turns lovely colors in the fall.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you call it, this stuff makes everything look pretty—especially in autumn, I think. Wonderful image, V!
ReplyDeleteI think it's so pretty the way it drapes around building and the fronts of homes. It doesn't matter what the season is, it's always pretty to look at. :)
