Quietly reading in the parks of Paris is a gift that Parisians give themselves. When in Paris, I always feel like I'm on the proverbial hamster wheel, with so much to see and so little time. An hour or so of reading in a park is a luxury.
I will be teaching FROM SNAPSHOTS TO PHOTOGRAPHS at Samford After Sundown again beginning October 16th for 5 weeks. Join us!
Oh, I know this hamster wheel feeling so well! But in July I spent a total of 3 hours sitting in the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Jardin des Tuileries, watching people and - of course - photographing them.
ReplyDeleteSo much to do and so little time for us photographers. Perhaps we should take a leaf out of this guys book.
ReplyDeleteI would imagine it would be impossible to spend a quiet hour reading (unless before bedtime) when there is so much to see in Paris! :) He certainly looks relaxed and engrossed in what he is reading. :)
ReplyDeleteIl semble seul au monde, un moment très agréable pour lui et pour nous !

ReplyDeleteA book, a garden, Paris...heaven!
ReplyDeleteWish I were there! Maybe I will sneak away today with a book for an hour somewhere...
ReplyDeleteJust pick up a book, put it in your purse, and go to that favorite park, find a seat, and start reading!!! You'll be glad you did!!! You're going to Paris so often now you've got plenty of time to see everything you want AND read a bit in your favorite spot!!!
ReplyDeleteParis is indeed a city that reads. I love sitting in Luxembourg gardens reading or sketching and sometimes taking pictures. Now that I live here I get to do it more often!
