This is what I'd call a "postcard photograph"of Paris so I decided to make it one. It's also a special one for me because I shot this from the rooftop of
Galeries Lafayette last January, on my last afternoon in Paris. A beautiful memory to bring home with me. Merci chère Mary for taking me to this beautiful spot. A perfect end to another very special trip to Paris with you.
Oh Virginia - too too beautiful - if there is such a thing!
ReplyDeleteLove the rooftops of Paris too. Thank you for sharing - made my day! Francesca x
It certainly is a post card shot and works well in black and white....
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely postcard worthy - what a beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteClassic vintage feel to this image. Just needs Audrey Hepburn in the foreground wearing a chic pair of shades.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty sparkly reflections....
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring postcard, thanks so much for sharing!

What a beautiful photo and indeed worth being a postcard.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday.
Fabulous, Virginia ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

This icon on the Paris landscape, like La Tour, can suprise you as you turn a corner miles away and suddenly see this majestic basilica... great shot, V.
ReplyDeleteAgreed Genie...Virg, it's my new "go-to" place to take people...thanks for mentioning me!
ReplyDeleteVirginia, you seem to spend most of your time in or on top of Lafayette !!
ReplyDeleteWe just, as in yesterday, reserved an apartment in Montmartre for 3 weeks next September! So close to Sacre Coeur. I'm already counting down the days!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful "postcard photograph", V, I like the B/W choice and the perfect composition.
ReplyDeleteYes, a perfect postcard photo. Very nice job, as always.
ReplyDeleteI love the view from the rooftop of the Galeries Lafayette.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah—that's a view and a half, V! I have a friend who collects postcards but never goes anywhere herself; I'd much rather be the one saying "Wish you were here." ;~} Bon dimanche --
ReplyDeleteYes! I think of Audrey Hepburn and Gary Cooper and 'Love in the Afternoon'! :) Adore this photo. As every picture you take.
ReplyDeleteTruly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely postcard worthy! Beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteThis is very special to me also. When I first visited Paris I took a doubledecker bus to each and every place before finally debarking and this was my first stop. I loved this and climbed from the bottom to the top. Enjoy your point of view.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's good to have classic postcard images...this one in B&W is beautifully shot V, and not always seen from this angle.
ReplyDeleteAren't those last evenings in Paris so memorable, they are always bittersweet. You know it's coming to an end and yet Paris is so magical that it keeps you captive :0
