I was on a hunt for these charming old signs this last trip and found this one in the Marais. It made me think of our friend Alain who hosts Montpellier Croix d'argent - Sète canal maritime. Don't you love the little moustache below!
I do indeed love the moustache below Virginia, but not as much as Aimee does, she has a thing about quirky jewellery (I bet that doesn't surprise you haha!) and she has a gorgeous little black moustache necklace. Gorgeous sign with it's little lantern and all!!
Merci pour cette dédicace. Les coiffeurs qui acceptent de "faire une barbe" sont assez rares.
ReplyDeletei like alains comment as much or almost as your photo and comment
ReplyDeletehave a happy weekend, dear

Une très joli enseigne... et bien évidemment une merveilleuse photo.
ReplyDeleteGros bisous
How quaint! Much more appealing than just a barbershop pole!
ReplyDeleteI didn't now such charming things existed! I'm just waiting for Hercule Poirot to step into the shop. Yes, I know he was supposed to be Belgian :-)
ReplyDeleteAlain is my father's name. I will forward this to him, V. Bon weekend! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture!I like a lot the sign and I'm sure it's a place that Cezar would like to visit! :)

ReplyDeleteI like the light on this sign with the clever moustache. I paid Alain a visit... merci!
ReplyDeleteMuch nicer than a plain sign. Reminds me of film clips I've seen of men in the 1920 who wore bushy mustaches and waxed them stiff! LOL
ReplyDeleteI do love the moustache - almost as much as I love your photo, dear V.
ReplyDeleteI love this kind of old signs and in this photo especially the moustache.
