L'artiste - Marché de la Création Bastille

I met artist Didier Léspagnol on 14 juillet 2009 as I wandered the streets of the Marais.  He was selling his prints at Place des Vosges that day.  He was quite charming.  I bought 6 prints.  I have photos to prove it here.  Each trip I seem to find him there or on Saturdays at the Marché de la Création Bastille on boulevard Richard Lenoir.  It's the largest open air art market and open year round 10-7.  Today a look at Didier's stall.  If you happen to meet him one day, buy some prints. Tell him I sent you.

  6. I love the prints sold on the Paris streets. Apart from the little 5x7's I acquired on my own, I have two from my in-laws' honeymoon in Paris in 1958, and two from a friend's Sorbonne days in the sixties. I'd love to visit your friend's booth someday!

  9. I remember walking along the Seine and looking at prints from various artists. I brought several back and had them framed.

It's hard to make a decision, there are so many to choose from.

  10. Our next trip, assuming it happens, will start in Paris at the end of August. We've never been in August, it will be interesting to see if it really is as dead as everyone claims.

  11. Your shot has gorgeous light, long shadows on the building in the background, reflections on the windows... lovely setting and photo.

  16. Starman, it's dead alright, but in a nice way I think. I was only there for a day or two. Now getting a resto that's open might be another story!

Alexa, Didier "claimed" I got a discount but I probably did not. That said, I am still very happy with my prints.
