Quel Cinéma ?

Thanks to Mary who had already seen this film, I took this shot in the Tuileries Métro.   I recently purchased it to share with the grandkids and watched it yesterday.  No wonder it won awards!  Do you know it?

  1. Not only did we saw "Hugo" last night in 3D, we also loved it, V. My 12-year old was mesmerized. In fact, even though I loved the Artist, I believe Hugo should have won "Best Movie" at the Academy Awards last week. Didn't Paris - and your favorite friend La Tour Eiffel - look even more beautiful in 3D? ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  2. Le Voyage dans la lune by Georges Méliès. It was made in 1902. I used to be fascinated by that movie. In fact the last time I saw it was last year. He was a real film pioneer. You should see some of his other stuff too.

  3. Wonderful film and a truly outstanding book -The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick - his illustrations are as beautiful as the film! If you loved the film don't miss the book! Francesca

  11. Lucky me. By now all of the other commenters have identified the movie (and the book that inspired it). I saw Hugo. It was charming, although I thought that this year was a year in which they should have considered awarding no Oscars. I didn't see a memorable movie this year.

  13. I had the same answer as James. I guess I don't watch enough new films. :) Perhaps it is time to check out Hugo.
