Our last afternoon in Paris on Tuesday, Mary took me to the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette. What a spectacular way to end our week in Paris. It was almost sunset and the view took my breath.
But you are going to Alabama.. how could you possibly be sad :-) ? i did not see you wave at me in Brussels but will wave at you soon from Tiger town ;) beautiful beautiful shot AND header ! anni
wpuld be AWESOME .. I love to make pics at Toomers corner. It is at least as exotic to me as Paris to you ! will actually be ONLY driving thru Tiger town in the afternoon of February 7 from Atlanta to Thomasville. The trip goes ATl, Lagrange, Opelika, Tiger town, Tuskegee, Montgomery etc. Let me get back to you.. I will ask my "gorgeousness" what is on the schedule on Febr 8, 9 and 10.. (return to Brussels on the 11th) maybe I will be closer to you... who knows.. Maybe Selma or Tuscaloosa.??. Would like to return to those places for pictures (not for This is Belgium)
Oh Virginia! I feel si triste. I always have tears when leaving. If this majestic sunset was the only image it was still worth the flight. Can't wait to see many more. Natalie
Both shots—color AND b&w—are stunning! This was said of Venice (by François Mauriac), but think you might agree that it applies to Paris too: You don't leave it, you tear yourself away.
It is a perfect wrap-up shot to finish your most recent trip to Paris. It is not fair that you have all of that gorgeous hair and I am . . . ahem . . . challenged.
I love ALL your latest photographs!! But especially this one I think the best...even though you are facing away from the camera we can still that smile from HERE!
Such a melancholic picture tinged with sadness, and yet still full of hope for your return encore une fois.
ReplyDeleteLa Dame de fer nous attend toujours... peut-être que lors de votre prochain séjours à Paris nous pourrions nous y rencontrer...
ReplyDeleteGros bisous
I wouldn't mind this view every day !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Both you and the view!
ReplyDeleteThe last look is always the most beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou take away with you that last image.

The B&W is lovely and portrays the melancholy mood well but I would love to see the sunset in color. Beautiful parting shot ... Well done, Mary!
ReplyDeleteVery nice; a view to remember!
ReplyDeleteM, have a look at the header! :)

a lovely picture to keep as a souvenir of your trip!
ReplyDeleteThat nice looking landscape pales in comparison to your great beauty...
ReplyDeleteP.S. I´m starting to forget Paris-cannot recognize that green roof in front of the ET! Madeleine? Odeon?
SOS s.v.p.
A beautiful photo of you... I can feel the joy.
ReplyDeleteThis needs to be blown up and put over your fireplace. We'll find a new place for the map :-)
