This shot captures so many tiny surprises of light on various surfaces that I feel pulled in to discover where the light is falling - like a "Where's Waldo?" puzzle! Lovely.
It is beautiful in all seasons! Last week it was draped for Armistice Day, and by now it will be ready with its holiday lights... always a stunning sight.
I agree Virginia, the Hotel de Ville is such a great looking building and the history is fabulous. Have been thoroughly enjoying all your images that I've missed since being in Sydney and am delighted to have a name for what I'll be doing this weekend...pollarding, excellent!!
Love that building! One of my favorite little places for a bite is just across the river with a view of the Hotel. Best when the sun goes down and the lights go up! Lovely!

I think the Hôtel de Ville is a beautiful landmark in Paris and I'm gals so many of you agree. This was taken last January while the whole place was decorated to the hilt with a skating rink and carrousel. Magnifique!
Such a beauty on the street !
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, V! The Hotel de Ville is one of the most underestimated buildings in the city.
ReplyDeleteCe n'est pas mon monument préféré, mais il fait partie du paysage.
ReplyDeleteThe way you pictured it gives a gothic mood to the building!
