Paris is probably the most photographed city on the planet. I don't fool myself that I could ever find a new point of view that someone has not already discovered. It doesn't keep me from the eternal search however!
This crisp, January Sunday afternoon, Mary and I made our way through Luxembourg Gardens. We were grateful that not many tourists spoiled our view. This image of the Medici Fountain brings back some wonderful memories.
La Fontaine de Médicis is my favourite fountain in Paris!
ReplyDeleteHi Virginia,
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful places to photograph in Paris, we were there in January too. Loved the cold and clear light for taking photographs.
La Fontaine Medicis in fabulous and love all the different textures.
Happy new week
Carolyn
Ooh, that light is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCertainement la ville la plus photographiée, en tout cas ta photo est baignée d'un joli rayon de soleil!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I echo Petrea's comment. {Echo, echo...} And I love the way the ivy looks like swags growing along the fence.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will succeed and shoot the unique photo of something or some one , never photographed before.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS FUN! I get to go to Paris through the eye of YOUR LENS!!!! Anita
ReplyDeleteOh what happy memories that brings back Virginia, I loved the Medici Fountain when we saw it! Gorgeous shot!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite quiet place in Paris regardless of the season and I have fond memories of sitting half-way down the left side in the green metal chairs eating babirusas and sipping wine with Holly - probably not allowed but....
ReplyDeleteHahahaha - my computer device did not let me say "baguettes" - wonder what a babirusas is anyway??
ReplyDeleteThis has become my favorite spot since Genie introduced me to it. Ready to sit there and eat babirusas!!!
ReplyDeleteGenie, i"ve never tried babirusas there but I'll do it next time. The chocolat is my fav. HA
ReplyDeletethere's something about winter light that is so different from the rest of the year .. lovely capture
ReplyDeleteI tried to photograph this beautiful fontaine, but my skills are not equal to yours.
ReplyDeleteStarman, you get creative when there are tourists! If you try to shoot it head on, all you'll get are tourists standing in front of it. grrrr
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful corner of Paris.
ReplyDeleteCostas
Wonderful light and shadows!
ReplyDeleteV - your photos of Paris are at the top of my list. (Must also add that Genie and Laurent are up there, too.) In my opinion, you always give us a fresh look at Paris landmarks, and I never tire of seeing your photos.
ReplyDeleteG- you threw me a curve with those babirusas....baguettes, I can identify with. My WV might qualify as a first cousin to your babirusas - beriveds.
Street photos.. i like it!
ReplyDeleteYour photographs are stunning. I never tire of seeing street scenes of Paris and I love the light you've captured. feels fresh and so like a morning stroll down the streets of Paris. Thanks. Love your work.
ReplyDeleteNow, don't I feel like a dummy for not remembering this particular fountain.
ReplyDeleteYou can show me this fountain all you want, V. One of my favorite spots in Paris. I always feel like I've been transported to another century.
ReplyDeleteGenie -- I think you should invent a pastry that might be called a babirusa. :~}
Enchanting photo!
ReplyDeleteI love your new profile photo! That red shawl is oh so sophisticated!!! Ooh la la V!!
Such a beautiful image Virginia.
ReplyDeleteThe Medici family were a great influence on France.
They fascinate me and I read anything about them that I can get my hands on.
What could be nicer than a Sunday stroll through Jardin du Luxembourg!!!
Shane
I still enjoy your versions as well
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to Paris the first time, I had a literal list of spots I wanted to visit. This fountain was on the list! Of course, I can't say that no one else has photographed this angle, but I can tell you that I have looked at oodles of Paris photos in my lifetime, and this is the first time *I* have seen a photo of this fountain from this angle. It is gorgeous!!!
