Christmas in Paris II - L'éclairage des rues

The windows and stores are a delight at Christmas but don't forget to look up!  So many of the streets are strung with the most amazing lights.  Here on rue Montorgueil is a wonderful example. If memory serves, we were headed straight for Stohrer and a gallette des roi!

  1. Noël est la période la plus jolie à Paris avec les illuminations!
Pour manger la galette des rois...il faudra attendre le mois de janvier! En décembre, à Noël, c'est la bûche qui est sur la table!

  6. Well, today is my birthday (no applause please!) and exactly ?? years ago, I was in Paris for my 30th birthday (you didn't really think I was going to own up to my real age today, did you?) I remember the store window displays, animated and sparkly. I remember the cold. I remember going to the ballet at the Paris opera house and ogling the fabulous ceiling, I remember walking to the Left Bank with two friends I had made at the youth hostel after the ballet (I was traveling alone). While we were walking to our dinner...we noticed a lot of women on the street, in the doorways...paying a lot of attention to the guy in the group...yep!!! We realized we were walking through the red light district!!! Oooops!!
