Place de la Concorde

I'm pretty sure this could be used as the classic, predictable "Paris tourist" shot,  but I'm sharing it anyway! I was probably risking life and limb by standing in the street trying to capture the Champs Élysées while dodging cars!

Blog Update
In a valiant effort to make my photographs last till I can return to Paris, I will now be posting lundi- venredi.  I hope you won't desert me.
Bon weekend everyone.

  2. Congrats on surviving the intersection! It is very intense there, but this shot was worth the risk.

  3. Predictable, maybe but just a tourist shot, non! The lamposts, the trees and the obelisk are perfectly aligned.

  8. We thank you for risking body and limb for this shot. ;) I like Place de la Concorde, The fountains, views of the Arc, but too busy with traffic.

  9. You can count on me to be here! Don't apologize for a classic Paris photo -- I depend on your photos because mine are so lousy! Just look at how the lamp posts and the middle row of trees are perfectly parallel with the obelisk....this is not JUST a 'Paris tourist' shot.

  16. I look forward to your daily Paris photos, especially when they invoke a good memory of my past trips or an unknown. Should you ever consider adding 'guest' photos of Paris, I'm sure you'll get plenty to cover the weekends.

  17. Somehow, I just can't imagine you running out of Paris pics, V!!! But if you do...I've got a few to lend too!!!

(When's your next trip to Paris???)

  18. You are either a very brave woman—or a very foolish one! I wouldn't take on that place even for a photo as special as this one! And no apologies need be made. I'll be looking forward to weekdays though.

  19. Even a "classical" photo can be of top class! I'm still impressed by the number pf photos you have in reserve! Will try to survive the weekend without your posts! :-)
