Tucked away on the hillside in Montmartre, you might be lucky enough to find
Clos Montmartre, Paris' only working vineyard. Production is limited and proceeds benefit charity. The Fête des Vendanges, in early October might be a fun festival to put on your list if you happen to be in Paris in October. I've photographed this lovely little vineyard several times but only by pushing my lens through the fence. I am not sure if it's ever open to the public.
I'm pleased to offer my newest calendar: Blanc et Noir en Paris 2011 through Red Bubble! Of course if you want a color Paris calendar, just look on the sidebar at la Boutique!
A lovely wineyard and thanks for a beautiful calendar.

What a beautiful kept secret to stumble upon
ReplyDeleteTotally missed it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect fall harvest
ReplyDeleteC'est incroyable de penser que, même à Paris, on peut faire du vin !
ReplyDeleteA bientôt car je pars voir mon fils à New York!
Claudine,
ReplyDeleteBon voyage! :)
Nice shot of the grapes and a timely posting with the Fêtes des Vendanges. So glad that you didn't get snagged by a barbed wire fence!
ReplyDeleteThank you, V! I can't tell you how many times I've looked for this—and never managed to find it. :~{
ReplyDeleteSomething to go back to Paris for--as if I needed an extra reason.
ReplyDeleteThe buses are easy once you discover this: http://www.ratp.info/orienter/metro.php
ReplyDeleteYou just put in a Line Number and it shows you every stop it makes.
Example: http://www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan.php?nompdf=43&loc=bus_paris/
Whenever I go some place, I watch to see which bus is passing by while I'm there. Try it. You'll soon be the master of the bus lines.
Certainment Paris must have a vineyard!! Another item for my "list"!
ReplyDeleteFresh grapes in Paris ! A dream come true...
ReplyDeleteFunny, was just picking the last of the grapes on the vine at our house, got a few kilos for good fresh juice... delicious !
I recently blogged about it. Nice to see I'm on the same wave length as you, and nice to see your view of it. Our guide told us people sometimes climb the fence and steal the grapes! Naughty, naughty.
ReplyDeleteI'm back! ... and I have again the opportunity to watch and to be impressed by your never ending stock of wonderful Paris photos. Last weekend, I attended the Fête des Vendanges... and posted about them! ... but the grapes were already gone!
ReplyDeletePeter,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, we've missed you. I will be over today to read all abou t the Fête on your blog!
