L'escalier

You do know by now why I love this blog so much. Everyday, I get to take a little trip back to Paris and relive so many wonderful memories. I found these photos last night. I smiled as I remembered that afternoon last July when I took these photographs at the Musée Jacquemont-André. This staircase is really just spectacular, don't you agree?

  2. Stunning staircase! I finally visited this museum a few years ago and loved it. Ah to be sweeping down this staircase in that black dress and veil from Printemps you photographed, headed off to a fashionable Parisian party.

  3. As soon as I saw the top half of the first photo, I immediately knew where you were. One of my favorite museums.

Great capture. The ironwork of that staircase is just wonderful.

  5. I jumped the gun and published too soon.
Did you get a chance to eat in the restaurant Musée Jacquemont-André? We had a very nice lunch and the dessert was magnifique!

It's so nice to see my favorite city through your lens. I love your header too. It looks just like the view from the Palais Royal apartment where we stay.

That did it I'm going to plan my next trip right now.
Oh how I love Paris. :)

  8. I can envision someone like Barbara Stanwyck or Joan Crawford making an entrance down those stairs.

  10. Now that's what I'd call a sweeping staircase. So beautiful—and so beautifully captured! I love your blog for the same reason you do (and who doesn't love a good vicarious "memory" as well?).

A wonderful choice you made to visit this lovely museum. Don't think I would have found it on my own, but then there's a lot in Paris I can't find on my own! :)

  13. Virginia,

I just stumbled upon your blog and I am captivated. Your images are absolutely beautiful.

Since I reside in California, I can't make it to your photography classes in Birmingham. Are you planning a Paris photography workshop?

  14. Anon,
Well that is a delightful possibility for me. I'd love to do just that. What I'd really like is to accompany a group to Paris for a photography tour! Want to help me find a way??

  16. Absolutely fabulous...both the staircase and the photos!!! Don't know the black dress you all referred to, but if it's long and flowing...that would get my vote!!!

  17. Indeed, this is a splendid stairway.

This post really makes «Louis» wish he could take Mme la Vache to Paris. She's never been there...
