What Is It? Where Is It? - Faucault's Pendulum, the Pantheon

We have a winner! Halcyon was the first to correctly name this as Faucault's Pendulum at the Pantheon. Hmmmm, perhaps I need to really work on a harder puzzle for all you whiz kids.

It's time to play "What Is It? Where Is It?" again! Make your guesses before Wednesday.
Bonne Chance!!

  1. I'm pretty sure I know where this is. It's the great pendulum inside the Pantheon in Paris. That's where all the heads of state are buried.

  2. Or, on second thought, it could be at the Arts et Metiers musee...

Leave it to Virginia to grab the most interesting vantage point!

  5. I can tell it's a Foucault pendulum; I guess now I have to get back to Paris to see where it lives.

  6. My first thought was the pendulum in The Pantheon, but I don't remember seeing the numbers displayed on the side, but then I again, I didn't look at it carefully from this vantage point. I haven't been inside the Pantheon since 1999!

    Great photo!
