Sunday we visited two brocantes ( flea markets) in St. Maurice aux riches hommes and la Fosse-Corduan. It's always a treat to see the eclectic offerings and the interesting people you meet. Of course there were more French strangers to photograph!

Wonderful collection of French gents to add to your Strangers series! And what fun to go to the flea market and look at old French stuff. Did you buy anything?
Uh, Virginia - are you SURE those first two aren't misplaced rednecks? The inquiring mind of «Louis la Vache» wants to know....
Oh - and did you notice the Nazi 'coal scuttle' helment in the background of the last image? «Louis» thought that the selling of Nazi items in France ist verbotten! Peut être they think they can get away with it in les marchés aux puces!
I'm with Louis la Vache --- camouflage outfit with a sleeveless t-shirt, and large girth doesn't seem like your typical French fashion statement.
louis,
Perhaps the guy in the "wife beater" tee shirt is Monsieur's redneck cousin visiting from Alabama!HA OUI?
Well now, they all look like quite the characters! Did you talk to any of them?
Maya, You know I chatted it up with all of them. THe gentleman in the second photo carried on a lengthy conversation en francais. I just nodded and smiled and said, "Oui" a few times!HA
I'm trying to learn your method of communication with the French speakers! Hah!
Wish you had included some pics of the "treasures".
Coming along nicely these are ... how much longer are you over there?
When are you back. I'm going SOF Aug 17th. Just imagine you nodding while that chatted away. Lovely grizzled faces.
