Gare Lyon is a lovely old railroad station full of charm. A glass of champagne in the beautiful dining room of Le Train Bleu made it even more special. I regret I cannot give lots of details here. I am now in the French countryside and experiencing internet problems. I add a link to Peter's very thorough previous blog here.
Le Train Bleu

Le Train Bleu is a fabulous restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner there. Our waiter was enamored of Florida and after he found that's our home, the service at out table became even better. This did, however, lead to a small problem, because when dessert was ordered, one of them was a rum cake. The waiter brought us a cake and a full bottle of rum. I won't mention any names, but one of us had to be carried home that night.
«Louis» very much likes Gare de Lyon! As Starman wrote, Le Train Bleu is fabulous!
Super shot in Le Train Blue (which could also be called Le Prix Haut). We ate there in April and I tried to take some shots with my point-n-shoot. Terrible. You got the right idea by getting in close.
I did not take any photos in Le Train Bleu so thanks for doing it for me. LOL.
I poked my head into Le Train Bleu on one occasion and thought it beautiful. Thanks for the photos.
the last one of the waiter should be an advertisement for this place! You have to send that photo to them! Beautiful!-kat
Ah yes, the French countryside and internet problems. We can relate! Lovely shots. I especially like the one of the bartender (or is he the bartender?).
We all like the man, Virg. Il est tres, tres beau. Doesn't look like any waiter or bartender I've ever seen.
That top one just conjours up so many cinematic moments for me. One of my favs.
I love this station. I have spent many hours there waiting for the train to Lausanne or Geneva to go visit family in Switzerland. You should also try the Gare St. Lazare... I love that one too! And the Hotel Concorde just around the corner has a spectacular lobby. Very old style.
