Night at the Museum
It's really late , and I'm just getting my photos downloaded from my night shoot with Peter. We had a grand time photographing the fabulous Louvre and the surrounding area tonight! We also walked along the Seine and were lucky enough to wind up our evening before the rain really set in. I'll let the photos speak for themselves tonight!
For Bob Crowe and Snapper, who I know are wondering about tripods etc., let me just add these are hand held except when I used Peter as my "human tripod". I am thinking that might be his new career!
Stay tuned. Tomorrow I'll put up some photos from our Sunday adventures as well. For now....bonne nuit everyone !

Stunning! I'll take this Parisian version over the movies any day!
You have truly out-done yourself with these photos!!!! You just keep getting better and better.
Shall we start a grassroots fund raiser, so that you can stay even longer and send us more photos!!!
Wow, great night shots. I love the reflections. See? I knew you could take night shots without a tripod! Or, at least a non-human tripod. ;-)
Wow - these pictures are amazing!!
I'm loving this trip, vicariously.
V. these are stunning, took my breath away. It feels like I am personally standing there. Big hug to Peter for his contributions!
Keep them coming - good night!
Merveilleux! How true it is that one leaves a part of oneself there yet brings it home, too, with them. I lived there as a student and returned twice since then. Not nearly enough!
I am thrilled to have found your site and now studying the photos you so kindly share...and wow, all the memories they bring!!!!
These night photos.....I really love these! Last night, my younger son and I drove through Montgomery down to Seaside in the moonlight. It was magical. Just think I was on a two lane through the Alabama countryside (HWY 331) and you had been at the Louvre! Finally I have some time to lounge about and read your blog!!
Beautiful photos, many thanks, I'll be back for more. It's been my dream for decades to get to Paris...I'll keep dreaming but enjoy your blog in the meantime. LBx
Peter could be your 'steady' boyfriend,ha, ha. He's a lot steadier than any human tripod I've used. Great shots!!!
Our new tripod technique has obvioulsy worked very well!
Fire Light, so you are at Seaside?? Oh my goodness. You are in my next favorite place in the world, Seagrove Beach. I look forward to some photos from you my friend!
Peter, after two glasses of champagne I am thinking our photos are pretty amazing! You're hired!
Harriet,
I hope the money starts pouring in for that campaign. I DO NOT want to leave!!
Katie,
I bought some vinatage Paris postcards the other day. Wish I could show them to you!
Marvellous shot, Virginia. I must remember the tripod trick!
Gorgeous night shots. I really like the one with the water - great depth of field.
Oh I am drooling over these amazing photos ... they are fabulous, Virginia!!!!
Excellent shots!
Ah, the human tripod, wonderful night pics!
Gorgeous...positively breathtaking!
Virginia,
I have been following your blog and love it!! I found it through a link that Melody posted. I have always wanted to go to Paris and your blog puts me there. I can't wait to experience it in person one day. You are a fabulous photographer. One question? What camera do you use? Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Sara
Sara,
A Canon Rebel XTI. Thanks for your nice comment. Visit often! Do I know Melody??

Melody Izard? Did you go to her house to see Malcolm Holcomb at a Keith Harrelson home concert? I think that is how my husband first found your other blog...anyway, so glad he/we found it! It is one of the first things I do every night...I have it bookmarked.
Sara,
Oh yes I know Melody and her husband. I had a great time at that concert. It was fun photographing Malcolm!

Handheld! Bravo! Magnifique! Superb! One of my fave memories of a night bike ride through the courtyards of le Louvre was turning my head slightly and catching a glimpse of Venus de Milo's head perfectly framed in a lighted window as I sped past. I think I would spend nearly all my time taking night shots, but I fear I'd need the tripod or to place the camera on something to pull off tack sharp shots. What camera and lens did you use for these stunners? Thanks.
