Bienvenue

These exquisite gates serve as a lovely welcome to Parc Monceau in the 8th arrondissement. It's not in the very center of Paris so is often overlooked. It's a beautiful and quiet park. Put it on your list.

Bienvenue à Parc Monceau

Only in Paris do the gates to a park make your feel like you've just entered Versailles!  Parc Monceau, located in the chic 8th arrondissement, is lovely, quiet park. I have only visited once, but would love to spend time there again.  Another little Paris jewel.

Une grande entrée

The entrance to Parc Monceau is pretty snazzy for a semi-public park don't you think?  For all the formality of the gated entrances and the rotunda, it's actually considered more informal in the English style, with curved walkways and randomly placed statuary, unlike the more formal French gardens.

An interesting fact I learned is that the 9 entries are monitored by a 5th generation park watchman who lives above the royal rotunda on the north entrance. Now I'd like to meet  him one day!

I'm pleased to announce that Belle Inspiration Magazine has featured some of my Nöel à Paris photographs. Please have a look !

Le Mariage

Parc Monceau proved a beautiful setting for this wedding party's photo session.  I think the bridesmaids' gowns might have outshown the bride's.

le Petit Garçon

Back at Parc Monceau today. If this little fellow looks familiar, well he has been here before! I found yet another view of him and couldn't resist. I just love his little bucket hat, and he was having such fun that day. Another............Paris moment I won't forget.

The Gate

Parc Monceau, established in 1769, in the 8ème is a beautiful place, and one that I think gets overlooked by most visitors to Paris. The gates on both sides of the parc are stunning. Today a silhouette pour toi.

A Mélange of Paris Portraits!

A little collection of portraits that makes me smile. Enjoy!

The Pigeon Feeder

Just like in this photograph, my friend Peter spent a lot of time waiting for me to take many photos. A portrait of him that I like very much . Merci mon ami.
