Paris From Above

Tucked away in the 11eme on a nondescript street, is one of the hippest places in Paris to enjoy an afternoon apéro. We discovered Le Perchoir in 2013, shortly after it opened in November.  The bar, enclosed in a tent, offered these nice benches with pillows and warm throws to ward off the chill. This rooftop bar offers commanding views of Paris rooftops and the Sacre Coeur in the distance. Highly recommend looking it up on your next visit. Of note, there is another location in the Marais now as well.

City Daily Photo Theme Day - Shelter

Shelter during the colder months at Le Perchoir's rooftop bar in Paris. Inside are comfortable benches with pillows, candles and warm fleece throws to keep you toasty while you sip a drink and enjoy the 360 view of Paris from above.

Today, I join fellow City Daily Photobloggers around the world for our first of the month theme, right HERE!

L'escalier

Last November, Peter, Genie and I struck off on what seemed like the potential of a wild goose chase, in search of a new rooftop bar, Le Perchoir.   After a good bit ( a LOT)  of walking we found the street, wandered through some industrial doors and looked up. I'll admit, I was already exhausted and the thought of climbing these stairs was more than I was willing to tackle. I didn't say so, but was thinking that if I had a drink, Peter Olson would have to bring it to me as I sat on the bottom step. Luckily, oh so luckily, we spotted an elevator so we all went up.  The view from the rooftop, and the Jack Daniels bourbon made for a fine ending to the day!

Les pots de chiminée

From our newly discovered vantage point high above the city at Le Perchoir's rooftop bar,  I found lots of chimney pots to focus on.
