Doors of Paris - le Louvre

Every time I pass this elaborate door, I want to whip out my hanky and give it a good cleaning. On the other hand, it's quite lovely just as it is.

Square Georges-Cain

Tucked away in a quiet little street in the Marais, Square Georges-Cain.  Located near the Musée Carnavalet, it is a quiet corner of Paris with interesting historical remnants, such as this rosette from the former Town Hall.

Sunday Church Series - Notre- Dame avec échafaudage

Construction of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris was begun in 1163. Hard to imagine how this magnificent structure was constructed without modern day tools and construction equipment. Seeing the scaffolding on this last visit, made me appreciate the patience, skill and workmanship it took to build this sacred space in the 12th Century.

Serge and Jane

Serge Gainsbourg's home is most certainly a sight to see when strolling the streets in the 6th arrondissement.  I understand that periodically the walls are wiped clean but more take its place. I"m not a hug tagger fan but do love the artwork here.

Livres anciens

If you love old book stores, you will be very happy in Paris. Sadly, many keep unusual hours, so often they are not open when I happen by. This shop in the Saint Paul area of the Marais, was one I had to admire through the window.

City Daily Photo Theme Day - La neige, Maman!

Today's City Daily Photo Theme is WHITE. Since I've only been blessed with snow in Paris once. it was a no brainer. January, 2010, we woke up to a lovely snowfall in Paris. Mary and I headed to the Palais Royal, close to our apartment. The photos I took that morning remain my absolute favorites.
