Opèra Bastille

I've passed this opera house in the Marais many times but never been inside. 
Sadly, I have found the area around, especially along the Métro station, not be to be well kept by the City of Paris. Your thoughts?

    Nice B&W of the outside! The inside supplies all of the modern needs for opera, ballet, and theater... except IMHO, charm. I would always prefer to go to the Garnier. As far as the area around Bastille, I'm guessing it's just impossible to keep up with the trash from zillions of tourists.
