I think in my over 5yrs of France (Paris region) I haven't come across to one single chef or waiter (and waitress) who was NOT smoking - and it's so disgusting to think that they touch food right after having had a fag because I also never saw any washing their hands when coming back. But it makes for lovely pics!!! :)
Knowing what most of us know, or should know, in the year 2013 about the ravages of lung/throat cancer, I for one am not amused by seeing them take a drag on a fag. Thinking about kissing someone who tastes of old cigarettes is even worse.
He looks like he might not be having the best day. He's attacking that "megot" with a vengeance and frowning to beat the band (or maybe that's just smoke in his eyes). It's a great capture, V!

ReplyDeleteA contrast from your last pic of waiter in motion. It seems they do stop once in a while.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a still from a Godard or Truffaut film; perfect in b/w.
ReplyDeletePerfect in B&W...and absolutely so Parisian!!! I'm guessing people still smoke more in Europe than here in the States???
ReplyDeleteYou've captured his demeanor and personality so well!
