Place du Tertre in Montmartre is usually packed with artists and tourists, but in January with snow melting on the ground, only a few hearty souls were set up, most waiting and waiting like this gentleman. The photograph on the left shows he was a bit skeptical as I walked up clicking away. I gave him a smile and a "bonjour". I almost got a smile back in the top photo. Merci Monsieur!
At least, he wasn't shouting "Pas photo, pas photo!!!"

ReplyDeleteDefinitely smiling eyes! He looks quite perfect, quite French there!
ReplyDeleteDid you sit down and get him to do a portrait of you?
ReplyDeleteInteresting looking artiste - I'll bet he has some stories to share.
ReplyDeleteI hope the country supports wonderful artists such as this. If only you could capture his life story in a picture. We can only imagine which is awesome in itself!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing all you had to do was stop hiding behind your camera to get that smile. :~} Another wonderful portrait, V!
ReplyDeleteDo you think that waving that five Euro note in front of him had anything to do with it?
