It seems no matter the season, the city of Paris finds something unusual for the plaza in front of the gorgeous Hôtel de Ville. In June 2010, the whole place was turned into raised bed gardens of all kinds

How pretty -- I love seeing images of Hotel DeVille. That was only a few blocks from my home base and whenever we finally hit there, whether by metro or foot, I felt like my feet only had to hold out for six more blocks! their displays were always fun!
What a charming spot to stop and smell the roses. I'm sure this little bench has been a welcome sight to many a foot sore tourist.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty ... Delanoe has certainly made sure this space has been given over to the Parisians.
ReplyDeleteLe banc à pique-nique n'est pas bien grand. Juste de quoi accueillir un couple d'amoureux.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very special place that must look great in every season, every year. Two fine photos.

I've wondered many times why they didn't leave it like that. Ah bon, c'est la vie!
ReplyDeleteLovely. I stumbled across a similar event this morning outside the Hotel de Ville in Neuilly-sur-Seine. One of those perfectly French moments!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBertrand Delanoë must have a brilliant team of people to come up with such wonderful ideas. Great image, V.
ReplyDeleteClever eyes...I love that bench!
