This month City Daily Photobloggers around the globe are posting their take on this month's theme - Pedestrian Crossing. Piece o' cake for me. I stood in front of this mural at Place Vendôme and waited f a bit for this. As for the mural, it's covering major renovation to the Hôtel Ritz Paris for now. (I'm including a smaller view. As you can see, they've not done much of a job of covering it.) If you are anxious to spend 850+ euros a night for a room or 3600+ euros for a suite, sadly you must wait until 2014 for the reopening.

That's a really clever idea for the Theme this month V. Impressed J.
ReplyDeleteFun photo. I hope the people in the foreground were real! Here’s my Dreaming of France meme I think you'll recognize the photo taken by my 17-year-old who is in France for the week.
ReplyDeleteI like the way they cover their construction sites in Paris. I agree..this isn't too well covered! Clever place for a pedestrian shot though!
ReplyDeleteAhh to stay at The Ritz....
how nice of her to wear that red coat for you!
ReplyDeleteNice! There was something very similar around when they built the Centre Halles, aka le trou des Halles in the early 80es, a very good 'trompe-l'oeil'.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your header!!!
ReplyDeleteWell I just may be able to pluck up enough courage to get on a plane just in time for the re opening Virginia :) super shot for today, love the red coat!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Wonderful focusing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd spend that much for a room even it I had it to spare but, you never know. If I had it to spare, I might have a different attitude.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful take on theme day. I like the moodiness - it feels like a film frame:)
ReplyDeleteVery nice (though I'm sorry to hear I have to wait until 2014 to have access to my fave Right Bank public loo)! Did you have to wait longer for the red coat, V?
ReplyDeleteMissed commenting yesterday, but that shot is spectacular!
The suite price you indicate are for a very small suite! ... and I guess the prices will go up as they hope to upgrade the hotel from five stars to Palace. Fortunately you know other addresses i Paris: :-) For the loo, I agree with Alexa; it used to be one of the best!
ReplyDeleteAlex, thanks for the tip , but as Peter can attest, I am always hesitant to sashay into a fancy hotel in Paris and try that! :)
ReplyDeletePeter, yes, luckily I do know some less expensive places in Paris!!!
Rob, I love the way they camouflage the construction. I think the Hotel Ritz could have done a little more considering the neighborhood!
I've always found it difficult to believe that people would actually spend that kind of money for a hotel room when they could get a really nice apartment for less.
ReplyDeletePerfect pedestrian photo! That hotel is way out of my price range, honey.
ReplyDeleteGood theme day post.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I thought the man and the woman in the front ground were hugging. LOL
ReplyDeleteNice photo.
A pedestrian crossing crossing a pedestrian crossing! Wonderful realisation!
