Cacahuètes

I don't think I've ever been served cacahuètes ( you wouldn't believe how long it took me to learn to pronounce that) with the shells before in Paris.  How nice they provide an empty glass for the shells.  A little taste of Alabama in Paris!

  2. Hi V. There are certain foods that are great for conversation. I guess they limber up the vocal chords. This looks like one of them. Cheers J.

  3. Even after 25 years of visiting and living in Paris I still don't know why you do or don't get peanuts with a drink. And I've never seen them served in the shell. Where were you?

  4. L'apéro! Of course they don't serve cacahuètes avec un verre de vin rouge :)

  5. C'est excellent, les cacahuètes! A cute word in the French language... like coccinelle, or libellule... :-) Great shot. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  6. I forgot that word until I saw it. Can't imagine the French eating these; they're so messy.

  7. I've never seen them in the shell either. I'll bet they wouldn't think of boiling them though!

  8. You don't just throw the shells on the ground? How uncivilized

  9. I never have seen them in the shell, either, though I did have some in a lovely bowl at a cafe I often visit! Pretty!

  11. Being from the peanut growing state of Alabama, I'm really surprised at how many of you haven't had the delight of eating them roasted in the shell. I've had the salted version in Paris many times and it's by far the best thing they serve with an apéro! These served in the shell was a café in the Marais. I was tempted to sneak one, but didn't!
