Located at the Jardin du Palais Royal, the
Galerie Numismatique specializes in vintage medals, awards and coins. I always stop for a look in the window. Another shop I should explore. Maybe I'll do that when I get my nerve to pop in to
Didier Ludot next door!
A very interesting shop, I like the colors of the medals, beautiful indeed!

Ces hochets se distribuent encore. C'est vraiment dérisoire.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteI like these types of things, it makes me wonder who they were pinned on and what that experience was like.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much more than the artistic nature that they now lend.
Ditto what Katherine said Virginia, so much history attached to medals oui!
ReplyDeleteImages of those old Frenchmen in pressed suits with rows of medals on their chests -
ReplyDeleteI love the blue medal in the last photo! It's gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, V. :)
One of my favorite shops too, V—but I'm strictly a lèche-vitrine here!
ReplyDeleteNow this brings back lots of good memories!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I've been to Paris my apartment was at 30 rue Montpensier just a few doors away from these shops.
I'll be in Paris again soon but this time in different apartment.
I would NEVER visit a shop of this type! Just as I do not like war, neither do I like the symbols of war!
ReplyDeleteStarman,
ReplyDeleteI never imagined these was WAR symbols, more aristocracy, they're so elaborate, but what do I know.
Maybe if I wore one of those on my sport coat, people would really think that I'm a BFD?
ReplyDeleteBon weekend, V de B
