This crèche at the Basilique Cathédrale de Saint-Denis is one of the most unusual I've seen anywhere in Paris. If I didn't know better, I'd think les petits enfants had been rearranging the figures.
My guess is that the les petits enfants have had a hand in the new location of the figures! Ha That is so cute and reminds me of my granddaughter who used to move everything around on my side tables. Ha I never knew where everything would end up! Ha :)
I had not visited your Paris bl0g for a long long time. How could I have missed all these beautiful pictures? I like this one in particular. Very unusual as you mention. The magic of Christmas! Have a wonderful season and lots of family moments! And a Merry Christmas!
Simple and therefor very moving.

ReplyDeleteWell, I've certainly never seen a crèche quite like this before—either the figures or the placement!
ReplyDeleteEach figure looks like it meant a lot to the artist too. I used to live where La Nacimiento was more prevalent than the "tannenbaum."
ReplyDeleteYes .. it does look as if someone has been playing chess with the pieces.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely. :)

Different, but nice! Sometime it´s good to keep things simple... Have you ever seen the huge crèche at Notre Dame?
