I spotted this painting by Robert Delaunay at the Musée de art moderne, and stopped in my tracks. I have a large reproduction of this in my home, and have enjoyed it every day.
I can understand why the reproduction of this vibrant piece brings you so much pleasure on your wall. When one sees the original work it heightens the pleasure of a good reproduction. Gros bisous
That is you in front of the wonderful Eiffel? I LOVE Delauney's obsession with the Eiffel but I've never seen an orginal! I think one can more fully appreicate his paintings after having experienced the real Eiffel! (PS it's so wonderful listening to the music while coming here, un grand merci!) PS I did a post about La tour eiffel awhile ago & mentioned you & Delauney too...
I am not surprised it took you a while to recognize "La Vieille Dame." She was not clad in her usual monochrome coat, and was not surrounded by "la grisaille" in the Parisian sky :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Hi Virginia,
ReplyDeleteI love how you captured the woman tilting her head looking at the painting!
It's an amazing artwork, beautiful colors!

I like the perspective of the tower from above. It is indeed vibrant to the max.
