Meet the Artist

Olivia Clétienne is a painter of animals ( and apparently other things) and does restoration work in a small studio in the Village St. Paul area of the Marais.  I photographed her two years ago, but Monsieur Google assures me that she's still there.  I loved capturing her working in the open door of her studio.  She heard the click of my camera and turned but was kind to let me continue photographing her.

  1. I was right about the blue but most of it is on her apron rather than her painting.

  2. And so casually chic in her ballet flats while working. Such a lovely candid shot, dear V. Have a beautiful Sunday.

  3. I'm with Shell - noticed how put together she is with her lovely shoes. Here in the States, an artist would most likely be a little less chic.

  4. Only a French artist could look so chic while painting - wearing all black with a white apron. Love this natural image.

  5. How nice to be able to paint in an open door way. She must attract customers this way (in addition to photographers).

  6. You can see the physical work that goes into those large paintings...

  7. She looks very hard at work. Her open door painting is a welcome and fresh change. I could spend some time there just watching her. I wish I was an artist...sigh but about all I can paint are stick men and all of them look the same! HAH

  10. Ah! The full view! Great photo -- and that splash of red on the bucket makes it!

  11. Isn't it fun to catch an artist while working?
