One thing I've learned in Paris is to push doors and see what's behind. ( Merci Peter). This day, I was wandering alone in the Marais and decided to walk through and have a look. This was a group that brought fresh produce from the countryside for the locals to purchase. Here in Alabama we call this farm to table. They were kind enough to let me have a look and a few photos. I love this photo because it shows a side of Paris that I've not seen.
A very unusual view! One would never think it's in Paris .
ReplyDeleteLooks like sort some of haggling taking place there
ReplyDeleteThose doors sure do look like the coul tell a few stories. Great texture.
ReplyDeleteEven the people in Paris need fresh produce. Ha I agree with you that this scene is not one you would expect to see in Paris. :)
ReplyDeleteTruly behind the scenes..
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I have also learned not to be too timid. No problem most of the time.
ReplyDeleteA different kind of "secret garden." Love the way you composed this, V—I feel like I'm peeking in.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do that too when I'm in Paris! I love finding wonderful things behind their gates, and usually it is worth the nerves of getting caught or yelled at in French :)
ReplyDeleteI never cease to be amazed at what is behind the doors! This is a wonderful find!
ReplyDeleteThey can't be too interested in selling their goods if they're behind closed doors.
ReplyDeleteHere in Maine & in France I enjoy seeing a generation of young people who is involved in direct farmer's markets & organic farms...(I sound like a dame d'un certain åge, n'est-ce pas?)
ReplyDeletesometimes it is better not to open closed doors... sometimes it is better to push !
ReplyDeletethe question is what to do when :)
Beautiful street shot V!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! Look at those old doors!!!! Love, love, love!

What a wonderful result of the "pushing-the-doors" attitude! :-)
ReplyDeleteI learned to push doors for the best of them! I was hesitant at first but we found such great things, now I'm rather bold.
