I'm pretty good at photographing Parisians on the sly, but Monsieur looked up just as I was taking this shot! I'm afraid I interrupted their afternoon chocolat chaud! Galerie Vivienne, if memory serves.
This reminds me of when I was caught by a rather stern Madame sketching in front of a hat boutique in the 6th...it's part of my post on June 3rd: "Wandering the Saint Sulpice Neighborhood". Your image & text is bringing back the Paris Dream...Merci!
Boy, I would sure enjoy a cup of chocolat chaud and one of those delicious looking pastries! I'm sure Monsieur didn't mind the photo, he was probably just surprised to see to taking their photo. :)
I love photographing people but I hate getting caught. You did a good job at sticking to your guns and getting the shot. I usually try to play it off like I'm taking a picture of something else. :)
That's why I never dare picturing people !
ReplyDeleteOMG, this place is looking soooooo attractive!
Monsieur is a Frenchman, and as such, caught a glimpse of a lovely blonde snapping away outside the window... :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteChocolat Chaud in Paris would taste different than anywhere else in the world.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he took one look at your charming smile and friendly wave and was glad of the experience, dear V.

ReplyDeletehe was likely with his mistress
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming couple and I am sure Monsieur did not mind at all.

ReplyDeleteYikes—I'd probably gain a few pounds by osmosis just being in the vicinity of all that good stuff! Hope Monsieur was flattered.
ReplyDeleteHe was probably wondering why you were taking photos instead sitting inside drinking chocolat chaud.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture...real people going about their daily lives. These are the pictures of Paris I enjoy so much!
ReplyDeleteThis picture so inspires me to visit Paris soon:)
