True, but for all visitors (and locals alike,) the best choice is one of these small map books on the right of the display. My favorite is the blue one: "Paris Pratique." I tell all my French students to get a copy as soon as they get off the airplane! :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Actually, I think the vendeur is a friend and they're just having their daily chat—or maybe he doesn't have what this gentleman wants and that's why he has his arms crossed. I like this photo a lot, V—so many potential scenarios!
Thanks for the suggestion, Veronique! This photo has so much life...perhaps due to the customer's hand gesture, perhaps due to all that reading material...
Virginia, another photo que j'adore beaucoup, beaucoup! People are imagining who this man is, that is wonderful when art inspires a variety of thoughts. It is the man I love, but also the details of the kiosk that you captured so well.

ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteone of the many things I love in Paris, these kiosques and the available choices
ReplyDeleteI only see these in big cities, and it's one of the things I love about them.
ReplyDeleteI think the one he usually buys..has a new spot and he is not happy!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at those magazines in those kiosks until the attendant demands, "Vous desirez?!"
ReplyDeleteOh, my. I love the expression on his face! Thank you.
ReplyDeletePoor old guy, he is obviously lost in this bright kaleidoscope. Will he leave empty handed overwhelmed with options?
ReplyDeleteWhere to begin! Great shot full of color! I love the messieurs hat!

ReplyDeleteYes what Alexa (above) thinks , I think too. The vendeur doesn't have what he is explaning or asking.
ReplyDeleteHe seems to be asking for information about a nearby place, though...
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!

ReplyDeleteI love the kiosques in Europe! They're so convenient for journals, métro tickets, phone cards, etc.

ReplyDeleteWell, I´ll take some women´s magazines and then read them in the Jardin du Luxembourg...
ReplyDeleteGreat way to spend a lot of time browsing through publications. Love this particular kiosque! Merci.
