Bon souvenirs

Most of you know by now that I often travel to Paris with my dear friend Mary Gilbert.  She and I met via Virtual Tourist after my first trip to Paris in 2007.  Since then, we've met in Paris twice and traveled (via standby) together 3 times.  She is the best travel bud in the world.  She has a built in GPS that gets us anywhere I want to go and she keeps an eye on me when I wander off in search of a photo.  She's learned how to keep  me walking by holding the "carrot"  of a really good place to shoot just a few blocks away, and miraculously,  despite knee issues,  I keep up, although I've accused her of trying to kill me on many occassions !  We laugh a lot, eat and drink a lot, but most of all, we just enjoy discovering the city we both love... together. Thanks Mar. Here's to many more trips and many more fond memories.

  3. Now, Virginia, how did you manage to take that pic if you were so far away from the button on the camera? Did someone else take it?

I met my BFF in an online community. I don't know how I lived without her before I found her. We've traveled together lots of times: NYC, Raleigh, San Diego, Hollywood, San Francisco, Atlanta...to name a few.

  10. Love this sweet photo of you and Mar. My blog today has a photo of you two as well taken the same day (assuming that you didn't wear the same thing every day)! What fun we had this trip with parties and Champagne and laughter and walking until we were dragging!

  14. Hmmm...I guess that I need a new scarf...but Virg is correct about the dates. I believe in Genie's shot it was Peter who bought the bubbly for his entourage. So many fantastic Parisian memories with our expanding network of playmates!

  15. How wonderful to have such a wonderful travelling companion - and I am SO jealous that you can travel frequently to Paris..... feel SO isolated in Australia some times! C'est la vie! But I am blessed too - I can travel vicariously thanks to your wonderful blog. F xx

  18. Sounds like you've found the perfect traveling companion, V—though I'd love the chance to audition for a spot as the 3rd "mousquetaire." And how do you manage to travel standby??
