Merci to my friend
Carla Coulson who spotted this boy in the bright red jacket behind me, as we chatted over coffee one day in the Marais. Note the sign has been "altered" by a clever artist. I would love to know the name!
Update: Merci to my friend
Sandi, who is in Italy right this minute and has solved the mystery. The artist appears to be
Clete Abraham!
Lovely shot, V. I like how the sun highlights your subjects. Bon weekend! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteUne superbe photo... Que du bonheur à la regarder...
ReplyDeleteMerci,
Gros bisous
What a lovely photo and I love that sign, well done.
ReplyDeletePerfect in every way - colour, composition and light - how perfect! Have a lovely weekend Francesca x
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, how can you chat in the Marais and concentrate on a little art treasure like this all in one swoop?

ReplyDeleteClet Abraham is the man who has left his mark in Florence... I just spotted one in Rome.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is the same artist?
Oh gosh, someone is stealing the white bar from the sign!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!
Cezar
Clever is the perfect adjective for this artist. I don't usually like 'street art' but must admit that I like this example because it is so clever.
ReplyDeleteThe light is beautiful ,and the sign very funny!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was pretty chilly judging by that snuggly red jacket Virginia, beautiful light, early morning or late afternoon?
ReplyDeleteI think Clet Abraham is the right name. VP has shown several of this street artist's clever modifications of street signs.
ReplyDeleteExcellent...we all need fun like this when the sign tells us not to do something!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot! I've seen those altered signs too and wondered about them.
ReplyDeleteHi Virginia - My friend Suz and I met you, Mary, and Peter in January (and Richard near the pet cemetery!) and I continue to enjoy your photos! Brings back many memories for me. The artist IS Clet Abraham--Bing or Google him and see his work.
ReplyDeleteClista, I'm so happy to hear from you. I've been holding the photos from our meeting till I did so I could make sure I had your name correct. Please stay in touch and look for your smiling one day very soon!
