Architect Odile Decq has done a masterful job of nestling this contemporary restaurant inside the opulent Opéra Garnier, without missing a beat. No, I've not dined there, but pressed my nose and lens against the gate and gazed longingly. I've included the menu as best I could shoot it. I think for a nice splurge in Paris, this might be my place of choice.
A great place !

Bonsoir V. I had not heard about this new restaurant. I may stop by for a drink next month. Merci pour le tuyau! :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle) PS: Love les chaises... rouges, bien sûr!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fabulous place. Think I would need to up the limit on the credit card though.
ReplyDeleteand having chairs of red didnt hurt
ReplyDeleteThe curved glass is amazing! {And yes, the red touches are very You, dear V.}
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to live in that photo? The reflection, the red chairs, the architecture ...
ReplyDeleteLOve not live!
ReplyDeleteVirgina-
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that restaurant is nestled in that portion of L'Opera
that was the unfinished Royal Entrance?
Have you seen that entrance?
Does anyone know the answer to that question?
I'm heading to Paris in October! I can't wait.
Roseann,
ReplyDeleteI"m afraid I can't answer that but can only add that if you are stand in front of the opera, the resto is on the right, near the gift shop.
Have a bon voyage in October!
V
I love the curved glass! Oh, and there are RED tables and chairs!
ReplyDeleteIt is inviting you to enter.
ReplyDeleteCostas
I love the rouge table and chairs! F~A~N~C~Y!
ReplyDeleteAnd Costas I hope you have your carte de crédit all ready! :)
ReplyDeleteI see many of you are admiring the rouge tables and chairs. I regret to have to share that they are more of a red/orange color!!
Semi-expensive, but probably a "must do".
ReplyDeleteSo ... when is the next trip? Possibly the northern winter in the dim distance?
ReplyDeleteThe colorful tables and chairs are okay, but the gates and the glass are gorgeous! I'll just have the caviar, merci—and a glass of Champagne, of course. Cheers, V!
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous Paris en Rouge. Fantastic solution and space. Next time I'll press my nose and lens against the glass at least.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm fancy enough to dine here! I love the glow coming from inside.
ReplyDeleteYou have outdone your own rougeness!
ReplyDeleteOu meme "Paris Rouge XXXVIII," non?
ReplyDeleteBon weekend, chere V de B!
Gee, Virginia, I don't know. The building itself is gorgeous, but I don't see modern red chairs and tables here . . . It is too extreme for me in this exquisite setting.
