Last January as Peter and I went round and round on the grand roue at Place de la Concorde, I captured this view of Tuileries and the Louvre in the background. It was a chilly and drizzly day as you can see from all the puddles scattered along the way.
Congratulations to Magdariana for being my 600th Follower! Thank you all for your faithful visits to this blog!!!
Great view from the air...lucky you to spend a day with Peter...
ReplyDeleteParis is so romantic in B&W, and under the rain! Happy New Year to you, dear Virginia!
ReplyDeleteMajestic view!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful picture ! it is just simply perfect.. glad it did not make you dizzy (as it would make me..)
ReplyDeleteYou see, I was right to "force" you to take a tour with the Ferris wheel!
ReplyDeleteI cant imagine being comfortable enough on a Ferris wheel to take pix .. that would involve not griping the sides of the car in a strangle hold.
ReplyDeleteWe all owe Peter a big thank you for getting you up in the 'grand rue'. Great photo! You have a gift for great composition and knowing what is pleasing to the eye.
ReplyDeletePeter, I do have you to thank for all the "encouragement" you offer. I'd have NEVER done that on my own!
ReplyDeleteBelgium and Daryl, I thought the same thing but being enclosed in the glass "bubble" helped. I did squeeze my eyes shut at first, then when I opened them and saw Paris below, I forgot the fear!
As afraid of heights as I am, I am definitely going up next time Virginia, I would 'overcome' for a shot like this. Fantabulous!
ReplyDeleteI was there myself last year. We could have met! ;-) Paris can be damp and grey in the winter, but it still looks incredible, especially from such a vintage point Apparently, Peter offers excellent advice ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Virginia! All the best, and look forward to so many more wonderful photos!

I visit this blog constantly, but don't leave a comment each time because it is ALWAYS great to view Paris through your lens, so I seem to run out of new words to describe my impressions!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 600th follower - a testament to the quality of your images and blog.
Warm wishes.
I love Paris in the winter...fewer tourist. The view from up there is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an archive photo from years past.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Virginia I only wish I were there!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Years to you and yours!
