14 juilliet, the crowd begins to gather in anticipation of the fireworks to come, when night falls in Paris. Actually I took this from the bridge where Peter and I waited for about two hours in order to get the primo front row spot by the railing. Well worth the wait.
Superb photo. i have been working on a story about the Seine river. This picture would fit right in ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo giving some idea of difficulty in finding right viewing area. This looks like a good place to see the show.
ReplyDeleteUgh, Paris Karin and I had a hellish 14th this year in Paris. I wish ours had been as nice as the one in your photo!
ReplyDeleteLooks great in black and white. Reminds of my first trip to Paris many years ago. We found an attic room and were so pleased when we spyed a very small Eiffel Tower in the distance through the vaulted window. Thanks for reminding me.
ReplyDeleteI would say that you had the best view of all for those fireworks... love the perspective of all those lined up on the banks of the Seine in anticipation.
ReplyDelete"First come, best seat" - isn't that what they always say?
ReplyDeleteBravo, V de B!
Reminds me of the July 4th Fireworks here .. also lots of crowds lining the riverside .. we stay home and watch it on TV avec air conditioning!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be there, I love fireworks.I saw the show and everything about the day by France TV.It was an amazing show!

Brilliant shot Virginia, love the nice wide view of the river leading up towards the Eiffel Tower, such a good spot they do have there, perfect in B&W.
ReplyDeleteI won't even talk about le Quatorze!
ReplyDeleteYou are so patient. Nice composition, Virginia.
ReplyDeleteTrès belle photo de notre Dame de fer.
ReplyDeleteLe spectacle valait la peine sans doute de patienter...
Gros bisous
Why is it I get this sense of blood rushing to my heart when I see such a photo of Paris?
