Looking Up - Galerie Vivienne

In January 2010, we stayed in a flat right across the street from Galerie Vivienne. This beautifully restored 19th century covered passage was hard to resist and we stopped in several times.  We had champagne at the little cafe there on our last night.  I especially like the glass roof and the wonderful lanterns.

  1. I stayed near here on my first trip to Paris and have gone back whenever I'm there.
Do you know if the apt. you rented will be available in late August?

  5. The galleries are very nice, but they're not for the tourist looking for a bargain. There are only about twenty left of the hundred or so that were there many years ago when they were in fashion.

  6. I'm sure I've mentioned that I used to work in one of Paris's passages, and they're rather special to me. This one is especially beautiful—and you've captured it so well, V!l

  11. It is a handsome arcade, Virginia. These are probably the origins of more modern indoor shopping malls. I much prefer this version.
