Hi Virginia! The Guimard collection of Metro entrances is fabulous!! I saw his particular one many times from my room at the Hotel du Louvre... ;)
Thanks for your comment at Blogtrotter Two, where Egypt 2010 ended up in magnificent glory for Ramses II at Abu Simbel! Look forward to reading you there again, and have an exceptional weekend!
Lamp posts, Guimard metro entrance, the brown signs that tell you which direction to go to find museums or the post office, the Louvre, French flag, and people taking pictures! What did I miss?
Anne, I think you fouond the all...even the Louvre?
Mad, Well Peter and I did walk right there but the truth is my photo library was in a pickle last night and this is an old draft from a previous trip! :)
Trotter, Your blog is amazing. I will certainly visit often. V
Love this photo in black and white, V. I am late and Anne has already named them all and good for her! I could tell right where this was taken and wish I was there now! Let's go!
I noted the quintessential Parisian balconies just visible on the left, and in addition to the Louvre exhibit poster is the movie poster—I love to go to the movies in Paris! This is an image that's just overflowing with the wonders of Paris!
I'm still hoping someone will transplant one of those lamp posts onto my street. It's a beauty, V.

Oh all the Art Nouveau...fabulous!
ReplyDeleteTruly a photo that says "PARIS" -- the best part: knowing that you were there taking the photo.

ReplyDeleteYou are a clever woman...excellent photo. I feel the presence of Peter at your elbow perhaps after a delicious lunch at Cafè Nemours?
ReplyDeleteArchitecture, lamps, culture, metro, people taking photos... There's a lot in the city and in this picture.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!
