Montmartre is one of the most charming neighborhoods in Paris. Oh yes, it can be very touristy, but take the rue less traveled and you'll love it. I thought we'd just spend the weekend here. Hope that's alright with you!
Good morning, Virginia. I LOVE the new heading. So perfect for Christmas. Your photo of the bearded man and all that shopping is making me wish I were in Paris for Christmas. On the other hand...
Bea thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Glad you enjoy my blog!
Thanks everyone. I think Merci is one of the most fun shops in the Marais. If you don't know how this concept store began, Google Merci Paris and find out about the good work they do. It's also ever changing. I have been 3 times now and it's always different and the cute red Fiat is decorated in a different way.
At first I thought you had taken a picture of my husband in Paris – but his leather jacket is not so long - apart from that, everything else is the same! Great picture.
And I have to agree with all the thumbs up for the banner shot!!! and I love how you are doing "Paris Through My Lens" these days!!! Very artistic and fun!!! I can't even figure out how to reposition my title, or even center it!!!
Bonjour Virginia Rouge sits so well in Paris !! I love to see the splashes of vibrant red on the little cafe canopies - makes my heart sing!! xx Dianne
What a scrumptious tour of Paris through your lens! My last trip to France's capital was in July 2009 - your snaps make me long to go back again! Luckily, our friend Isabelle from Paris will be landing in Minneapolis any minute and having dinner at our house on Monday night! Bonsoir - bonne nuit

ReplyDeleteSounds good to me! Oh, and I love your new banner photo.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds good to me too, Virginia. And your current banner pic is a magnificent choice for the season.
ReplyDeleteHello Virginia, I stayed in Montmartre many years ago, when I was an art student, and I love, love, loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, your blog is great.
Another voice of admiration for the banner photo. Charming 'hood.
ReplyDeleteFine with me, V! Monsieur has a great face—glad you caught him. Add me to the banner photo fan club (I think that M now stands for "Meeps.") :~}
ReplyDeleteA good candid.

I love the area of Montemartre, as you've captured, there's an eclectic mix of people, shops and buildings.

wv: vasychos...vichyssoise spelled incorrectly!!!
You can't fool me, that's Santa Claus disguised as a Parisian.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had spent more time in Montmarte, but am reliving it now through your pic here and my Abbesses Metro stop post.
ReplyDeleteStarman,
ReplyDeleteMay be or could he be one of the artists??
Chieftess,
Here's the secret: Put your photo in Picasa and do a text box, then export it. Voila!
Vagabonde,
How funny would that be! :)
Bonjour Virginia

ReplyDeleteI find rouge à Paris a delightful game on each visit! :)
How did ToonMan get to Paris? I swear that's his (and Jay's) double!
