  5. Wonderful shot, V! I love that there are actually two couples in this picture—but it took me a moment to even realize that.

  7. I think it is sweet, also. Not sad for me at all.

  8. Thank you for your comments. This photo was a special memory for me. I saw so many dear Parisians walking arm and arm in the gardens and along the streets. I can't imagine anything more wonderful than taking the arm of a loved one and having a nice walk.

  10. isn't it amazing Virginia how much a photo can convey - this one warms my heart. I'm going to post a photo on my blog soon of that older lady danser that you featured in your March 2010 blog "Musique dans les Rues -la danseuse". She was so unique.I have seen her often on the Pont Ille St Louis always wearing the same outfit.

  11. Touching.....but sad for me.
I understand what you wrote above, Virginia, walking "taking the arm"......it's so peaceful.
But in this particular picture, I find it sad. For me they are an old mother and her son, and I feel a kind of "devotion" (don't know if it's the good word, dévouement in french) that makes me feel sad.
